Liugong India to Localize Plant in Pithampur

Liugong India, a subsidiary of China's heavy machine producer Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. , will further localize its manufacturing operations in Pithampur of central India's state Madhya Pradesh to realize internalization, said top officials with Liugong India.
Liang Weisen, managing director of Liugong India, said Indian people will charge the operation and management of the plant in the coming years, which came into operation about one year ago.
Liang told Xinhua that Liugong India also prefers to employ the people from nearby areas so as to foster long-term relations while Chinese staff providing short-term training.
Now, Liugong India produces wheel loaders and has more than 130 of Indian employees from around 40 one year ago.
Liugong India plans to supply another 30 jobs for local people this year while hoping green hands could work for the company for more than three years, said Xu Liping, vice president of Liugong India.
It will take another three to five years to complete the process of localization, enabling local staff to directly interact with business departments from the headquarter in southwestern China's Liuzhou.
Liugong India also plans to introduce the production lines of motor graders and rollers in the coming quarters with the localization of hydraulic excavators on the drawing board.
Liugong India put the first phase of its 44-acre Indian plant into operation in July 2009 with annual capacity of 2000 units.
By now, the construction equipment manufacturer has entered the market of more than 80 countries and districts in the world with its first overseas production base in India.
