Average Wage of On-Duty Staff and Workers in Urban Units Went up in H1

In the first half year, the average wage of on-duty staff and workers in urban units* reached 14,638 yuan, surged 1674 yuan, which climbed 12.9 percent over same period of previous year, or 5.1 percentage points dropped year-on-year.

In the first half year, the average wage of top three sectors were: financial industry stood at 30,603 yuan, 2.1 times of the national average; information transmission, computer services and software industry accounted for 27,730 yuan, 1.9 times of the national average; scientific research, technical services and geological prospecting industry hit 23,248 yuan, 1.6 times of the national average. The reciprocal threes were: accommodation and catering services industry valued at 9,885 yuan, occupied 67.5 percent of the national average; construction industry totaled 10,349 yuan, occupied 70.7 percent of the national average; management of water conservancy, environment and public facilities stood at 11,661 yuan, occupied 79.7 percent of the national average. The descending ratio of the average wage between industry sectors was 3.1:1.

 

 

*Note:

According to the existing statistical system of National Bureau of Statistics, the average wage of on-duty staff and workers in urban units covers the state-owned units, urban collective units, as well as units of associated economy, joint-stock economy, foreign- funded units, units funded by entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, while that excluding the private enterprises and self-employed individuals. Total amount wages refers to the total remuneration payment to staff and workers in various units during a certain period of time, which including hourly wages, piece-rate wages, bonuses, allowances and subsidies, overtime pay, wages paid under special circumstances, no matter if it accounted to the costs, or whether it paid by monetary forms or real objects, are all included. Total amount wages calculated the individual pre-tax wages, which including pension, medical care, housing, and other personal account of the fund. The average wage equals total wage bill of staff and workers divided by the average number of staff and workers within the year (quarter).
