The Second World Chinese Economic Forum, organized by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI) of Malaysia, will be held in Kuala Lumpur on Nov. 2-3.

ASLI Chief Executive Officer Michael Yeoh told reporters on Friday that the forum carries the objectives of promoting Malaysia as the regional trade and investment hub, as well as strengthening the ties between the east and the west.

It is also hoped that participants of the forum can study the experience of China's entrepreneurs to strengthen the relations between China and Southeast Asia, said Yeoh, who is also the forum 's organizing committee chairman.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak is expected to officiate the opening ceremony of the forum and deliver a keynote address.

Yeoh said the forum expects 500 participants from around the globe and he believed that more agreements on joint-venture projects could be concluded during the event.

Other speakers include Malaysian ministers, prominent business leaders from Malaysia and abroad, representatives from various non- governmental organizations, as well as scholars from overseas.
