The South Korean government on Friday announced that it will host a summit of the world's 20 major economies on November 11-12.

Given that an annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum will be held on November 13-14 in Yokohama of Japan, the government decided to host the G20 summit ahead of the APEC forum to coincide with leaders' planned trip, the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit said in a press release.

The summit meeting will be held at the Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul, and the schedule has been notified to the concerned parties through diplomatic channels, the committee added.

In September last year, South Korea was selected as the host country of the fifth G20 summit for the 20 advanced and emerging economies to convene to address global economic issues.
