South Korea has set the venues for meetings between finance ministers and central bankers from the world's 20 major economies, the presidential office said.
Among five high-ranking meetings for this year's G20 summit, to which South Korea plays host, one meeting between finance ministers and central bank chiefs to be held on June 3-5 will take place in Busan, the country's second largest city and a southern port city, and another such conference in October in Gyeongju, an ancient capital and a tourist destination, according to Cheong Wa Dae.
A meeting in September between vice finance minister and vice presidents of central banks will be held in Gwangju, a southwestern city 300 kilometers from Seoul, according to the presidential office.
Meetings in September and October between high-level representatives coordinating plans on summits, often called Sherpas, will be held in the capital Seoul and Songdo International City, respectively, the office said.
South Korea in September last year was chosen to serve as the host country to the fifth G20 summit, a global forum among the world's 20 advanced and emerging economies designed to address global economic issues.
