Indonesia Sets 2010 Industrial Stimulus at US$134.7 Mln

Indonesian government approved a 1.27 trillion rupiah (about US$134.7 million) fiscal stimulus program for industrial manufactures this year, the Bisnis Indonesia reported here on Monday.

The fiscal stimulus would be formed import tariff paid by the government (BM-DTP), Head of Research and Development Department at the Industrial Ministry, Dedi Mulyadi, said.

The fiscal stimulus for industrial manufactures was part of the ministry's overall stimulus program allocated at 3 trillion rupiah (about US$318.3 million) for all industrial sectors this year.

"If the finance minister's decree can be issued right on the scheduled times, the disbursement fiscal stimulus can be better compared to it was last year," Dedi said.

The ministry has allocated the fiscal stimulus for 11 industrial sectors this year, or more than 9 sectors allocated to receive the stimulus last year, Dedi said.
