South Korea will hold five high-ranking meetings at next year's G20 summit to which it will play host, Seoul's Ministry of Strategy and Finance told Xinhua Tuesday.
Starting with the vice finance ministers' meeting slated to be held in Incheon, west of Seoul, in late February next year, the country will host meetings between finance ministers and vice ministers in early June and September, finance ministers' meeting in November, and a summit scheduled in the same month, the ministry said.
The meetings are aimed at harmonizing agendas and opinions before the summit, according to local media.
The venue for a summit will likely be Seoul and one of the country's other major cities is being considered for finance ministers' meetings.
South Korea in September was chosen to serve as the host country to the fifth G20 summit, a global forum among the world's 20 major economies designed to address economic issues they collectively face.
The host country rotates annually among the member countries.
