It is projected that the Thai economy will grow by 3.3 to 5.3 percent next year on the back of the global economic recovery, deputy governor of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) Bandit Nijthaworn said Friday.

The gross domestic product's growth forecast is based on a projection that in 2010 the Thai exports will expand by 13.0 to 16.0 percent, the Thai News Agency quoted Bandit as saying.

"Personally, I believe that the global economy will pose a positive growth rate, which will be positive to the Thai exports," Bandit said.

Meanwhile, the Thai government's rising spending and economic stimulus measures will largely help boost the domestic economy next year, he said.

Also, if the lending extension in the financial sector continues, it will support the domestic recovery, the BOT deputy governor said.
