Canada to Move G20 Meeting from Cottage Country to Toronto

Canada will move next year's G20 summit to Toronto from a cottage country located in center Ontario that has been originally determined as the site, local media reported Wednesday citing government officials.
The G8 and G20 summit has been originally planned to be held in the town of Huntsville in the Muskoka cottage country, over an hour's drive from north of Toronto.
But a senior official of the Ontario provincial government has said while the G8 summit will still take place in Huntsville, the G20 meeting will now be moved to Toronto, national newspaper The Globe and Mail reported.
That is because the demands of lodging and security for the people expected to attend the G20 conference will be overwhelmingly challenging to the small town of 18,000.
A spokesman for federal Industry Minister Tony Clement refused to confirm that, saying no decision has been made to move the G20 meeting from Muskoka. He said the federal government is still examining the feasibility of hosting the event in Muskoka.
The G20, which includes the group of eight developed countries and some developing countries like China, Brazil and India, will focus on international economy while the G8 will now mainly discuss international security and non-economic issues.
The two meetings will be held in June next year.
