Cuba to Take Measures Against Global Financial Crisis

Cuban Economic and Planning Minister Marino Murillo Jorge said new measures will be taken to protect Cubans from the economic downtown due to the global financial crisis.
"Nobody in Cuba will be unprotected,” Murillo was quoted as saying by local daily Juventud Rebelde on Sunday.
Mourillo announced some measures that the government would carry out to tackle the crisis, such as readjusting the country's growth plan, reducing energy and fuel consumption.
According to Vice Minister Julio Vazquez, the incomes of the Cubans have dropped as a result of the crisis.
