Cargill, the world's leader in food and agriculture industry, yesterday announced to sign agreement with Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau, becoming a public partner of the US National Pavilion at the expo.

"It will be a golden opportunity to highlight Cargill's innovative work in China's market for supporting sustainable agriculture food safety," said Norwell Coquillard, President of Cargil China.

Ellen Eliasoph, Co-Chair of the US Pavilion, said that it will be important to use Cargill's long-term focus on sustainable agriculture and food safety for supporting the theme of US Pavilion during the expo-Sustainability and Health.

During the six-month Shanghai 2010 World Expo, Cargill will lead a lot of children from China's rural areas to visit the Expo 2010 as part of Cargill's plan to promote the Expo's " Better Life" theme to the countryside as well as cities.

"The development of Cargill is deeply rooted in rural communities. So the participation in the expo will be a way for continuously expanding Cargill's efforts on building better life in China's rural areas," Norwell added.
