The Portuguese finance minister hailed on Friday the agreements reached at the Group of 20 (G20) summit, saying the measures will benefit Portuguese exports, news from Prague said.
Fernando Teixeira dos Santos, who was in Prague for a visit, said he was "inspired" by the decision on boosting world trade and impeding protectionism.
"As for an open economy like the Portuguese, whose growth depends on exports, this is very important," Teixeira said. "Portugal will benefit from the boosting of the international commerce and the recovery of the world economy."
Portugal has a regulation system more interventionary in the finance area, without big problems in comparison with the ones expressed in the summit, he said.
"We will have to do our work at home, to rethink our regulation and supervision system to adjust or reinforce it in Europe," he added.
