The Asian Development Bank predicted that Vietnam's economic growth is likely to recover to 6.5 percent next year, the Vietnam News reported on Wednesday.

Vietnam's near-term economic prospects were clouded by uncertainty on the length and depth of the global downturn and the level of the government fiscal stimulus, said the bank.

The bank proposed Vietnam accelerate economic reforms and further open up its economy to maintain confidence of foreign investors. These policies are expected to protect the continuing flow of foreign investment.

The bank also made projection for the country's economic growth of 4.5 percent this year.
