China's top political advisory body on Tuesday held a special conference on the control of overheating of economy and inflation, with senior leaders Jia Qinglin and Li Keqiang present at the meeting listening to their suggestions.
Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), urged political advisors to forward more proposals on the country's economic development to help the government better cope with inflation and other problems.
Jia, also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, asked CPPCC members to make close watch on the trend of the world's economic development, research on the unpredictable factors of the international markets and deliver more valuable proposals to the Party and government.
CPPCC members should also pay much attention to the domestic macro economy, especially the inflation, energy supply, food safety and financial security, find out new problems in the implementation of the central government's policies, he said.
Vice Premier Li Keqiang said that CPPCC members had been important advisors in economic issues.
Li, also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, told the CPPCC members that to control inflation would be still the priority for the government in the near future.
