Industrial Production -- January - March 2007

In the first quarter of this year, the value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size (from industrial enterprises with annual sales revenue over 5 million yuan) was a year-on-year rise of 18.3 percent. The proportion of industrial products sold was 97.1 percent, keeping the same level with the same period of last year. The consignment export value of the industrial enterprises reached 1495.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 23.7 percent.

 

Among major industrial branches, the production of textile rose 17.2 percent, that of the chemical materials and chemical products went up 22.1 percent, that of non-metallic mineral products industry climbed 23.5 percent, that of the smelting and pressing of ferrous metals went up 27.5 percent, that of general equipment manufacturing rose 23.8 percent, that of transportation equipment manufacturing was up 24.9 percent, that of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing rose 19.1 percent, that of the communications equipment, computer and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased 16.9 percent, the production and supply of electricity and heat was up 14.5 percent.

 

Among major production, the outputs of raw coal, crude oil and electricity generated were 494.93 million tons, 46.04 million tons and 701.2 billion kwh respectively, a year-on-year rise of 14.8 percent, 1.5 percent and 15.5 percent respectively, those of iron, crude steel and steel products reached 108.52 million tons, 114.7 million tons and 126.34 million tons, a year-on-year rise of 19.7 percent, 22.3 percent and 26.2 percent respectively, that of cement was 241.82 million tons, a year-on-year rise of 14.5 percent, that of automobile reached 2.25 million, up 22.3 percent, especially, and that of car was 1.21 million, up 32.1 percent.
