Industrial Production -- February 2007

From January to February of this year, the value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size (from enterprises with annual sales revenue over 5 million yuan) was a year-on-year rise of 18.5 percent. The proportion of industrial products sold was 97.0 percent, keeping the same level with the same period of last year. The consignment export value of the industrial enterprises reached 939 billion yuan (US$121.3 billion), a year-on-year rise of 23.6 percent.

 

Among major industrial branches, the production of textile rose 17.8 percent, that of the chemical materials and chemical products went up 21.7 percent, that of non-metallic mineral products industry climbed 25.9 percent, that of the smelting and pressing of ferrous metals went up 28.5 percent, that of general equipment manufacturing rose 24.2 percent, that of transportation equipment manufacturing was up 26.1 percent, that of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing rose 18.1 percent, that of the communications equipment, computer and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased 17.7 percent, the production and supply of electricity and heat was up 15.5 percent.

 

Among major production, the outputs of raw coal, crude oil and electricity generated were 316.82 million tons, 30.44 million tons and 448 billion kilowatt-hour respectively, a year-on-year rise of 15.7 percent, 2.5 percent and 16.6 percent respectively; those of iron, crude steel and steel products were 70.07 million ton, 74.25 million tons and 79.01 million tons, a year-on-year rise of 21 percent, 23.1 percent and 25.4 percent respectively; that of cement was 148.71 million ton, up 23.8 percent; that of automobile was 1380 thousand, up 21.5 percent, especially, and that of car was 750 thousand, up 29 percent.
