Industrial Production -- July 2006

In July the value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size (from all the state-owned industrial enterprises, and non state-owned ones with annual sales revenue over 5 million yuan) reached 720 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 16.7%. The proportion of industrial products sold was 98.29%, down by 0.32 percentage point over the same period of last year. The consignment export value of the industrial enterprises reached 487.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 21.8%.

Among major industrial branches, the production of textile rose 14.2%, that of the chemical materials and chemical products went up 18.8%, that of non-metallic mineral products industry climbed 22.4%, that of the smelting and pressing of ferrous metals went up 25.1%, that of general equipment manufacturing rose 22.2%, that of transportation equipment manufacturing was up 18.5%, that of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing rose 14.8%, that of the communications equipment, computer and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased 19.7%, the production and supply of electricity and heat was up 11.6%.

Among major production, the outputs of raw coal, crude oil and electricity generated were 0.168 billion ton, 15.74 million ton and 251.7 billion kilowatt-hour respectively, a year-on-year rise of 9.7%, 1.9% and 13.5% respectively; those of iron, crude steel and steel products were 34.71 million ton, 36.09 million ton and 38.66 million ton, a year-on-year rise of 22.9%, 22.2% and 22.5% respectively; that of cement was 0.107 billion ton, up 19.6%; that of automobile was 530 thousand, up 10.4%, especially, and that of car was 310 thousand, up 17.2%.

Added up from January to July, the value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 4695.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 17.6%.
