Industrial Production -- January-June 2006

In the first half of this year, the value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size (from all the state-owned industrial enterprises, and non state-owned ones with annual sales revenue over 5 million yuan) reached 3968 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 17.7%. The proportion of industrial products sold was 97.47%, down by 0.12 percentage point over the same period of last year. The consignment export value of the industrial enterprises reached 2688.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year rise of 24.9%.

Among major industrial branches, the production of textile rose 15.4%, that of the chemical materials and chemical products went up 19.8%, that of non-metallic mineral products industry climbed 22.1%, that of the smelting and pressing of ferrous metals went up 16.3%, that of general equipment manufacturing rose 21.8%, that of transportation equipment manufacturing was up 24.1%, that of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing rose 15.8%, that of the communications equipment, computer and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased 25.7%, the production and supply of electricity and heat was up 12.2%.

Among major production, the outputs of raw coal, crude oil and electricity generated were 0.96 billion ton, 91.66 million ton and 1268.7 billion kilowatt-hour respectively, a year-on-year rise of 12.8%, 2.1% and 12% respectively; those of iron, crude steel and steel products were 193.2 million ton, 199.47 million ton and 221.95 million ton, a year-on-year rise of 20.8%, 18.3% and 25.8% respectively; that of cement was 0.54 billion ton, up 20.8%; that of automobile was 3890 thousand, up 27.8%, especially, and that of car was 2010 thousand, up 53.2%.
