Moderate Quake Hits Tibet

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted Xigaze in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region Friday morning, according to the national seismological network.

The quake struck at 10:22 AM Beijing time.

With a depth of about 10 km, the epicenter was detected as 30.9 degrees north latitude and 84.0 degrees east longitude in Zhongba County.

No injuries or deaths have been reported.
