Strong Earthquake Hits Taiwan

An earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale struck Hualien waters off the eastern coast of Taiwan island at 21:02 (Beijing time) Saturday, the China Earthquake Networks Center reported.
The epicenter was at 23.8 degrees north latitude and 121.7 degrees east longitude with a depth of 30 kilometers.
