The recruitment of "Lavender Angels" concluded on Tuesday with two college girls winning the so-called "Best Job in China", China News Service reported.
22-year-old He Zhifei and 20-year-old Chen Huiyuan became the two very lucky girls who will receive 20,000 yuan (nearly US$3,000) per week for working at Panlongxia, a scenic spot famous for its 200,000 square meters of lavender flower fields in south China's Guangdong Province.
The selection lasted for over a month and the ten final candidates attended Tuesday's final contest to compete in self-introduction and cognition, situational judgment tests and even a talent show.
The two "Lavender Angels" will start work in July for roughly three months, including the summer vacation and hot tourism seasons such as the National Day holiday and the Spring Festival.
Their responsibilities will be to inspect the lavender fields regularly and record their state of growth, as well as to prevent tourists from destroying the plants or polluting the fields.
They will also act as image-ambassadors for the travel resort and to promote the lavender flower fields through TV and the internet.
