A wall with map of China still stands intact in after-quake rubbles in Beichuan County, the worst-hit area in last year's 8.0-magnitude earthquake in southwest China.

The 2 by 1.6 meter colorful map of China, was found on the wall that was once used as a folding screen standing between the main gate of former Beichuan middle school and its quake-destroyed school buildings, according to local newspaper.

Tang Gaoping, a teacher in Beichuan middle school, said the map was drawn on the wall in 1980s. After last year's quake and some following floods, most part of the wall has been destroyed but only the part with a map of China remains upstand.

A building fell down right in front of the map wall merely two meters away. Broken cement pillar and uncovered reinforcing steel bar still lie nearby.
