Cold Wave to Sweep N, NE China in 2 Days

A cold front will hit north and northeast China over the weekend and bring snows and rains and temperature drop, the nation's meteorological authorities forecasted Saturday morning.

Temperatures will fall by 14 to 16 degrees Celsius in the central part of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the western region of Hebei Province, the southeastern areas of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and most areas in the northeast China, according to the National Meteorological Center(NMC).

The above areas, together the central and east parts of Gansu Province, and areas along with the Tianshan Mountains in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, will embrace rains and snows over the weekend.

Most parts of Gansu Province, the eastern part of China's northwest region, and the areas along with the Yangtze,Yellow, and Huai rivers, will see temperature decline by six to 12 degrees Celsius.

The NMC also reminds people in those regions to take precautions against the big temperature drop.
