Li Stresses Improving People's Livelihood in Development

Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang has called for greater efforts to improve people's livelihood while developing economy.
During an inspection tour in southwest China's Guizhou Province from October 17 to 19, Li asked local governments to better solve major issues concerning people's livelihood while pursuing a faster and scientific development, to let people benefit more from economic growth and make the economic development more sustainable.
Improving people's living standard would not only solve people's difficulties, but also help boost consumption and enhance domestic demand, he said.
He asked local governments to seize the opportunity of international industrial structure adjustment and industry transfer in China's coastal regions to boost economic development with local characteristics.
Li also encouraged enterprises to enhance technological innovation and develop more products with independent intellectual property rights, high added value and market competitiveness.
