Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu urged local governments to continue their efforts for autumn harvest and sowing and water conservancy construction in winter to pave way for next year's grain harvest when visiting northeastern China's Heilongjiang Province Wednesday.
The agricultural work in autumn and winter is crucial for next year's summer harvest and China's stable and fast economic growth, Hui said.
A key grain production base in China, Heilongjiang boasts high-level agricultural modernization.
Hui inspected water control projects and grain bases in townships of Suihua City.
China is expected to have another bumper grain harvest this year and local governments should spare no effort to promote current agricultural and rural work, Hui said.
