FM: China Will Continue to Support UN's Work

Yang made the remarks when met with Ban at the UN headquarters in New York.
Yang said the United Nations scored new achievements on safeguarding world peace, boosting common development and promoting international cooperation in the past year. China has participated in the UN work in a more comprehensive and in-depth way.
"China will continue to support the work of the United Nations and its Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in a bid to make joint efforts to promote world peace, security and development, "Yang said.
Ban spoke highly of China's important role on international affairs as a permanent member of the Security Council. He also appreciated China's active participation in the world body and its support for the UN secretariat, expecting to see a bigger role of China on world peace and security.
The two also exchanged views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula, in Sudan and Cote d'Ivoire, as well as on the climate change issue.
