Jordan's King Abdullah II on Thursday called for an early revival of peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians, a palace statement said.
It is important to move swiftly to re-launch talks between them, and the talks should lead to tangible results on the ground, the king told a visiting US congressional delegation headed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Royal Hashemite Court said.
He stressed that the United States has an important role to push the two sides to restart serious negotiations.
Abdullah also reiterated the importance of insisting on the two-state solution, which would see an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel to solve the decades of conflicts between the two sides.
