Iran Asks Interpol to Arrest 'Israeli War Criminals'

Tehran's Public Prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi said that Iran had asked the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO or Interpol) to arrest "Israeli war criminals," the satellite Press TV reported on Monday.
Iran had referred the case to Interpol, drawing on the organization's charter and Israel's violation of the Geneva Conventions, Mortazavi was quoted as saying by Press TV.
Interpol began studying Iran's request for the arrest of 15 senior Israeli officials over war crimes committed during the Gaza offensive, he said, adding that, "Governments of 180 countries have received the information necessary for identifying the suspects."
Iran is going to host an international conference in support of the Palestinians and Gaza on March 4-5.
The conference would be held with the participation of Iran's senior officials as well as parliament speakers from a number of countries and leaders of Palestinian groups.
Iran never hesitated to pronounce its all-out support for Hamas during the three-week unprecedented Israeli military offensive on Gaza, during which about 1,400 Palestinians were killed and 5,500 others wounded.
