The Jordan Medical Association (JMA) has launched a media campaign to call on physicians going to Gaza to treat wounded Palestinians, daily newspaper The Jordan Times reported on Thursday.
The campaign was launched on Wednesday. JMA President Zuhair Abu Fares urged that "it is much easier to go into Gaza now than it was when the Israeli air strikes were taking place."
As part of the medical help to Gazans, a Jordanian medical team will be dispatched to the Strip early next week, which will comprise about 10 doctors and technicians specialized in amputations and physiotherapy, according to Abu Fares.
The medical team will be the third of its kind after Israel launched its military offensive on Gaza on December 27, 2008.
During the three-week Israeli offensive, some 1,400 Palestinians were killed and 5,500 others wounded, Gaza emergency chief Mo'aweya Hassanein said.
