Macao Launches City Cleaning Campaign amid Global Flu Outbreak

As part of the effort to step up prevention measures against influenza A/H1N1, the government of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Wednesday announced that it will initiate a series of anti-flu activities which mainly involve a campaign to clean the entire city.
Joined by the 12 local civic groups and one company, the SAR's Health Bureau and Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) and three other departments will launch a city-wide anti-flu activities, which will include the cleaning of public facilities, relevant exhibition and seminars of A/H1N1 flu prevention so as to raise the resident's awareness of personal and public hygiene, said the Health Bureau in a press release. The activities will last until the end of May.
Local tax drivers will also be urged to clean and sterilize their vehicles on Friday.
A total of 92 child patients and 57 adult patients with respiratory symptom were reported in the SAR's biggest public hospital on Tuesday, but there was no "possible" or "confirmed" A/H1N1 cases detected, according to the figures from the SAR's Health Bureau.
