Moderate Earthquake Hits NE China City

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale hit Hunchun City of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in northeast China's Jilin Province at 7:34 AM Beijing Time Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was monitored at 43 degrees north latitude and 131.1 degrees east longitude with a depth of about 560 kilometers, the center said.
