A Christmas-themed tourist resort is expected to open soon in Mohe County of Heilongjiang Province, known as China's "North Pole," the local tourist authorities announced Saturday.

The North Pole Christmas Village, covering an area of one square kilometer, consists of several theme parks, a ski resort and the home of Santa Claus, officials from the county's tourism bureau said.

A great number of tourists from around the world visit Mohe every year to enjoy its winter scenery.

Mohe, China's northernmost county, is located just opposite the Chita and Amur regions of Russia.
