Two buses adorned with toys in southwest China's Chengdu City have been named the "cutest buses in history" by Chinese bloggers, the Chengdu Evening News reported.
The two bus drivers, both female, decorated the buses by hanging toys inside and putting stickers of cartoons on the windows.
"It is very dull to stay in a bus for a ten-hour shift, so we wanted to make the buses feel more like home," said Zhong Xuemei, one of the bus drivers.
Many passengers are delighted by the decor, which they say make the buses more warm and welcoming.
Other passengers think the decorations make the inside of the buses seem disorganized and are an impediment for those who want to hold on to the handrails.
Some also worry that the decorations may obstruct the vision of the bus driver or pose other safety hazards.
According to the bus company to which the two buses belong, the company doesn't have any rules on decor. The company said it appreciated the drivers' decoration efforts but stated that safety is their first priority.
