The Vietnam-China Youth Festival has achieved its goal of promoting friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the two nations, especially young people.

The good results of the event were announced by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMYU) Central Committee at a press briefing in Hanoi on August 30.

During the five-day event, Vietnamese and Chinese youths took part in planting trees, visiting historical sites, factories and agencies, and joining in discussions and cultural exchanges with local young people, as well as activities to protect the environment.

The Vietnamese delegation raised funds worth US$30,000 to assist flood victims in China.

A great gala was organized in the Guangxi sports centre, attracting over 30,000 participants and making a good impression of the solidarity and friendship on young people from the two countries.

All activities were witnessed by representatives of the Party, the State, ministries, departments, sectors, localities and youth unions of the two countries.
