The first Tibetan Wedding Festival will be held in October.
China National Radio's web site cnr.cn reported that "there are 600 newlyweds who will accomplish their wedding ceremony together by using the Tibet aristocrat's way in the bank of Brahmaputra and at the foot of Namjagbrawa at that time."
The organizer has publicized their official website http://www.xz1314.com and applied to the Guinness World Records for the 600-couple event.
A Tibetan singer named Ciren Yangzong has sung the theme song for this year's festival, which plans to be held annually during October 18 to October 26 in Nyingchi, Lhasa, Shannan and Shigatse.
The newlyweds can enjoy a 9-day wedding trip and have the chance to take part in many Tibetan custom activities, including a bonfire evening with the lighting of 999 ghee lamps.
