Egypt decided on Sunday to extend the opening of the Rafah land crossing at the border with the Palestinian territory of Gaza Strip for one more day, a security source said.
The Rafah crossing would be closed on Monday instead of Sunday, said the source, adding that the Egyptian authorities made the decision to allow more Palestinian patients to enter Egypt.
A bus carrying 70 Palestinians in addition to 137 patients were allowed to cross into Egypt on Sunday, Ahmed Abel-wahab, head of Rafah medical team told Xinhua.
On Saturday, 300 Palestinians who hold foreign passports and residence permits of Gaza have been allowed into the impoverished Palestinian enclave, and some 500 Palestinians have been allowed to cross into Egypt.
