Six cases of swine flu have now been found in Canada, health officials confirmed on Sunday.

Four cases have been confirmed in the eastern Nova Scotia province. The patients are high school students who recently traveled to Mexico. All have minor symptoms and are recovering, provincial health officials said.

At least a pair of cases were confirmed in the western British Columbia province and the patients recently returned from Mexico, the province's Center for Disease Control said.

Dr. Robert Strang, the chief public health officer of Nova Scotia, said the four cases in the province are students attending King's-Edgehill School, a private high school in the Windsor area, located in central Nova Scotia.

They had been part of a group of students who were on a school trip to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula in early April.

All are considered "mild" cases of the flu and the affected persons are now recovering. No one has been hospitalized, Strang said at a news conference in Halifax.

He said local health authorities are working with the Public Health Agency of Canada and related agencies across Canada, to monitor the swine flu issue.
