Sources: Hamas Determined to Reach Unity Deal

Sources close to the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Thursday the movement was determined to reach an agreement on all problematic issues to achieve national Palestinian reconciliation.
The sources said that Hamas will present visions to settle the controversial issues that were left unsolved after the first round of unity talks that were held in Cairo this month.
The dialogue aims at reconciling Hamas, which won the Palestinian parliamentary elections in 2006, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement. The factions agreed on forming a transitional united government and holding elections in 2010.
According to the sources, Hamas' proposals will involve the issues of the government's platform and the electoral law. The sources did not reveal details of the visions.
Hamas rejects to join a government that recognizes the peace deals with Israel.
The source said that Fatah rejected an earlier proposal by Hamas that the government can be formed without a political program and only be responsible to run the daily life issues.
The Palestinian factions will start their second round of unity talks next month.
