Israel Nabs 7 Palestinians in West Bank Raids

Adjust font size:

Israeli forces arrested seven Palestinians during raids in the West Bank city of Nablus early on Thursday, witnesses and security sources said.

More than 20 army vehicles stormed Balata and Askar refugee camps in eastern Nablus and soldiers stormed tens of houses there, arresting four in Balata and three in Askar, said the witnesses.

The detainees are aged from 16 to 20, according to the Palestinian security sources.

The Israeli troops also entered Jenin and deployed patrols in the city. There were no reports of arrests.

The new arrests in Nablus took place after the Israeli army imposed more restrictions on the movement of people in and out of the city from its southern way.

Israel raids the West Bank cities and villages on daily basis, mostly to chase down against activists said to be wanted by the Israeli security and intelligence services.

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) has often slammed the Israeli acts, saying they hinder peace talks.
