A senior Palestinian official revealed on Tuesday that the next round of inter-reconciliation Palestinian talks are to resume before the first weekend of April.
Rabah Muhana, top leader of the Popular Front to Liberate Palestine (PFLP), said in a statement that Palestinian conferees will resume their dialogue "to conclude all outstanding issues."
Muhana added that his left-wing group began to hold contacts with other Palestinian factions leaders to stress that "they have to end the internal rift and serve the Palestinian interests and cause."
On March 10, leaders of 13 factions, including the two rival mainstream movements of Fatah and Hamas, concluded their first round of dialogue, which basically aimed at agreeing on forming a unity government and preparing for holding general elections before Jan. 25, 2010.
The two issues remained unresolved are: the political platform of the new government and having a complete proportional elections.
"In fact we are still in a status of a national liberation stage that needs the participation of all the Palestinian political and social classes to run the Palestinian affairs," urged Muhana.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian source closed to the Hamas movement told the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper that a meeting will be held in Cairo on Wednesday between leaders of Fatah and Hamas.
The source said that Hamas is waiting for an official Egyptian invitation to attend the meeting in Cairo to resume the dialogue on all the outstanding issues, mainly the government and the elections.
