Hamas representative in Lebanon Ousama Hamdan said on Monday that the killing of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) deputy representative Kamal Medhat is aimed at undermining Palestinian unity, local LBC TV reported.
The explosion aims at "destabilizing the Palestinian situation which has been calm for a while. Kamal Medhat played a major role in stabilizing the situation and in unifying ranks," Hamdan told LBC.
He added that it is difficult to determine who was behind the bombing, but those are the Palestinians' enemies who want to benefit from the incident, hinting at Israel.
The PLO deputy representative in Lebanon Kamal Medhat along with at least two bodyguards were killed Monday by a roadside bomb near the entrance of Miyeh Miyeh Palestinian refugee camp in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon.
Fatah sources told LBC that the bombing was aimed at PLO representative in Lebanon Abbas Zaki, who passed on the same road in a similar car 10 minutes before the explosion, but his assistant Medhat was killed.
