The Chinese community in the fourth largest US city of Houston on Saturday carried out a two-hour show to commemorate the centenary of China's 1911 Revolution, or Xinhai Revolution.
Artists from southeastern China's Zhongshan City, the birthplace of Sun Yat-sen, leader of the 1911 Revolution, joined a number of local performing groups to put on the show.
The show depicted the life and revolutionary ideas of Sun, regarded as the forerunner of China's democratic revolution, with traditional and modern songs and dances.
The show was one of a series of activities organized by the local Chinese community to commemorate the 1911 Revolution.
The revolution toppled down the imperial Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and gave birth to China's first republic.
