China set up the biggest ever delegation for the 26th World University Games at Shenzhen on Aug.1 to continue their domination at the biannual event.

A total of 505 athletes from 110 universities will compete in all the 24 events of the Universiade, which will be held for the first time in China from August 12-23.

A 400-over-member Chinese delegation won 22 gold, 21 silver and 15 bronze medals to finish second on the gold-medal standings at the Turkey Universiade in 2009.

China hope to stamp their position of the top three placings at their homeland when the form-up of the team was announced at the Beijing Sport University Aug.1 morning.

More than 13,000 athletes and officials from 180 countries and regions will compete in the Universiade, the second international comprehensive competition to be held in the Guangdong Province in 10 months. Guangzhou staged the Asian Games in November.

China eye on a bunch of strong events to complete their medal haul, including women's soccer, women's volleyball, table tennis, badminton, shooting, chess, gymnastics, diving, weightlifting, judo and etc.

Most members of the delegation had began their training camp at Beijing July 23. The delegation ensured that all the registered athletes are students of Chinese universities between 18-28 years old.
