World record holder Jody Cundy of Great Britain looks like the one to beat in the Men's 1km Time Trial (LC2) on Tuesday afternoon.

Cundy, who set the world best mark at the 2007 Paralympic Cycling World Championships at Bordeaux, France, has chosen this as his only 2008 Paralympic Track Cycling event and must be confident of repeating his gold medal success at the Paralympic Cycling World Cup in Manchester, held earlier this year.

Out to stop him are the gold and silver medal winners in Monday's Men's Individual Pursuit (LC2) Jiri Jezek of the Czech Republic and Roberto Alcaide of Spain. The Spanish rider will also be keen to overturn that particular outcome in Tuesday's Time Trial event.

Other names to watch are Belgium's Carol Eduard Novak and Jan Boyen who took third and fourth places in Monday's Individual Pursuit and Amadour Granado of Spain who was ranked third in the world at the end of 2006.
