Drinking Water Shortage in S China

 Students at Gengsha School in Fengshan County of Hechi City, in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, wait for drinking water on Sept 19, 2011. Starting July 1, the region recorded the lowest precipitation since 1951, and 63 counties and 11 cities are affected by the drought. A total of 402,150 people and 164,410 livestock are suffering from drinking water shortage. The region has received 110 million yuan (US$16, 3 million) to fight the drought. [Xinhua]
