What Kind of Meeting Mechanisms Does the CPPCC Employ?

Meeting mechanism employed by the CPPCC include: the plenary sessions of the CPPCC National Committee or local committees, Standing Committee meetings, meetings of the chairmen, meetings of the secretary-generals, and meetings of the special committees. In addition, various forms of consultation, appraisal meetings and hearings will also be convened when necessary.
The plenary sessions of the CPPCC National Committee are the highest level consultation. Meetings of the Standing Committee are the highest form of consultation when the National Committee is not in session. Meetings of the chairmen are an important form of consultation when the Standing Committee is not in session. Meetings of the secretary-generals are a primary form of consultation before topics and significant matters are submitted to meetings of the chairmen for discussion. Meetings of the special committees present a forum for members to have discussions on specific subjects.
