M-6.0 Earthquake Hits Off East Coast of Japan's Honshu

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted the waters off the east coast of Honshu, Japan, at 4:21 PM Beijing Time Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Network Center.
The epicenter, with a depth of 30 km, was monitored at 39.1 degrees north latitude and 142.2 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
