CAREC Institute Director: digital empowerment of ecological governance and the global value of China’s approach

China.org.cn/ Chinagate.cn, September 03, 2026 Adjust font size:

China's digital ecological governance model—driven by satellite remote sensing, big data, and drone technologies—has been rigorously tested in arid and semi-arid regions, offering a replicable and scalable solution for global ecological restoration. In response to common challenges faced by Central Asian and Global South countries, such as desertification and water scarcity, CAREC Institute Director Charymuhammet Shallyyev highlighted in an interview that the core value of China's approach lies in its precision risk management, mature technical toolkits, and low-cost governance pathways. He further emphasized that the CAREC Institute is actively facilitating knowledge sharing, capacity building, and policy research to bridge China's proven practices with Central Asia's needs, thereby advancing tangible and deepened regional cooperation on ecological governance.
