Macao's visitor arrivals up 2.4 pct year on year in July

The number of visitor arrivals to Macao rose 2.4 percent year on year to 3,542,218 in July 2026, the special administrative region's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) said Friday.

Same-day visitors increased 6.4 percent to 2,107,744, while overnight visitors fell 2.9 percent to 1,434,474. The average length of stay shortened by 0.1 day year on year to 1.1 days, according to the service.

As regards the sources of visitors, the DSEC noted that visitors from the Chinese mainland rose 5.4 percent to more than 2.7 million. Visitors from Hong Kong fell 10.2 percent to 561,713, while those from Taiwan rose 13.9 percent to 104,833. International visitors decreased 1.9 percent year on year to 174,469.

In the first seven months, visitor arrivals increased 8 percent year on year. Same-day visitors grew 13.9 percent, while overnight visitors edged down 0.3 percent, the service said. ■
