China's postal sector achieves steady growth in H1

China's postal sector maintained solid growth in the first half (H1) of 2026, with business revenue rising 6 percent year on year to 925.6 billion yuan (about 136.25 billion U.S. dollars), according to data released by the State Post Bureau on Friday.

Revenue from the express delivery sector totaled 771.41 billion yuan during this period, up 7.3 percent year on year, the data showed.

The postal sector handled 108.89 billion items in the January-June period, up 4.2 percent year on year, with express delivery volume having reached 100.38 billion parcels, growing by 5 percent compared with the previous year.

In terms of segments, intra-city express deliveries totaled 7.22 billion items, down 8.4 percent year on year, while inter-city deliveries reached 91.01 billion items, an increase of 6.1 percent.

In June alone, the postal sector generated 162.07 billion yuan in business revenue, up 5 percent year on year. The sector handled 19 billion items last month, rising 3.7 percent from a year earlier. ■
